Spicy Pasta Arrabiata

Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves of garlic, finely sliced
- 2 red chilies, finely sliced
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
- 800gr canned whole tomatoes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 400gr penne pasta
- Optional: Parmesan cheese
Directions
- Step 1
- Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan on medium-high heat, add the garlic, chilies, and chili flakes. Fry for 1 minute, turn down the heat to medium-low and add the canned tomatoes. Simmer for at least 10 minutes.
- Step 2
- Meanwhile, prepare the pasta according to the package instructions. Don’t forget to generously salt the cooking water. Save some pasta water before you drain the pasta!
- Step 3
- Remove the sauce from the heat and add the pasta to the pan. If necessary loosen up the pasta with some pasta water.
- Step 4
- Taste the arrabiata and add pepper and salt according to the spice level you like. Optionally grate over some parmesan cheese and you are ready to eat.
